President Buhari's Approval on Renaming a Ministry.

On Friday, during the news briefing in Abuja, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology announced the change of name to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation which was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari. 

He stated that it will bring economic growth, competition and make Nigeria a nation of innovators.

The Federal Executive Council led by President Buhari approved the National Science, Technology, and Innovation Roadmap (NSTIR 2017-2030) in 2017.

The minister is the mastermind of the change of name approved by President Buhari, stating that this will bring a higher productivity platform in Nigeria.
