Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory and 11 other states reported 541 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, according to figures released on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The health agency reported no COVID-19 related death.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Monday.
According to the agency, the 541 new cases were recorded from Lagos, the FCT and eleven other states.
Lagos recorded the highest numbers for new infections with 242 cases, Akwa Ibom – 94, Enugu – 48, Oyo – 48, Anambra – 34, Rivers – 19, Ogun – 17, Ekiti – 15, FCT – 9, Kwara -7, Abia – 5, Delta – 2 with Niger reporting a single case.
The health agency said the 541 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 182, 503.
However, 167, 132 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.
With no deaths reported, the death toll from the virus remains 2,219, NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
