Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti “is obsessed” with getting Cristiano Ronaldo back, according to Edu Aguirre on El Chiringuito de Jones.
Just as Lionel Messi leaves La Liga, another legend may return.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti wants to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to the Bernabeu, according to a report out of Spain.
Ancelotti is in contact with Ronaldo’s agents in a bid for a reunion.
There are limited positions to look at this from. Initially, Aguirre has a rapport with the parties included, so it’s not a report to instantly write off.
Nevertheless, acknowledging Ronaldo will quit Juventus for Real Madrid this year does feel like a stretch.
Carlo Ancelotti needs Cristiano Ronaldo back at Real Madrid
Ronaldo scored 36 goals for Juventus last season, so he still has enough to give on the pitch. The Italian club wouldn’t want to let him go. They’ve already suggested they’re more interested in working out an extension than trading him.
Ronaldo is 36 years old and eventually, his age will catch up to him. If Real Madrid brings him back this year, they’d have to invest a chunk of money into a transfer fee and his wages. It would be a more believable possibility if the club’s finances were in a better spot.
As for Ancelotti expecting Ronaldo back, that’s positively acceptable. Ancelotti and Ronaldo won the Champions League for Real Madrid in 2014 as manager and a player.
He wants to reunite. Ronaldo is a legendary figure at the club. He wouldn’t just strengthen the attack; he’d strengthen Ancelotti’s position.
