Flight suspension in some countries

Quarantine requirement remains in place for holidaymakers according to the country list which is amber, green, and red.

The Amber-list countries are 
🇬🇧 UK
🇺🇸 US  
And most European countries.

The green list countries are only a few destinations comprising;
Madeira, 
🇭🇷 Croatia and 
🇲🇹 Malta

Red-list countries are those the UK government says presently the highest Covid risk, and should not be visited "except in the most extreme of circumstances".

A lot of countries are on the red list, comprising 

🇮🇳 India 

🇵🇰 Pakistan

🇹🇷 Turkey 

🇧🇷 Brazil and

🇿🇦South Africa. 

If you have been in one in the last 10 days, you can only enter the UK if you are a UK or Irish national, or UK, resident.

Ministers look at the COVID-19 situation in each country and make the decision, based on advice from the Joint Biosecurity Centre (JBC).

The lists are reviewed every three weeks and the system is similar for EnglandScotlandWales, and Northern Ireland.

Qantas and Jetstar employees will go off duty for an estimated two months in response to ongoing Covid-19 outbreaks in Australia.

The stand-down of the 2,500 frontlines is a “temporary measure” to deal with a significant drop in flying caused by Covid-19 restrictions in Greater Sydney in particular and the knock-on border closures in all other states and territories.

No job losses are expected, the carrier added.

The decision will directly impact domestic pilots, cabin crew, and airport workers, mostly in New South Wales but also in other states given the nature of airline networks.

Employees will be given two weeks’ notice before the stand-down takes effect, with pay continuing until mid-August.
