This year is indeed a tragic one for the entertainment industry. The popular Nollywood actor and production manager, Seun Micheal, gave up the ghost on August 11 which was made known on Instagram by Ayo Olaiya. The actor who is a production manager complained of malaria before his demise. He had pleaded for financial aid earlier.
Ngozi Ezeonu who has been in the movie industry for over 30 years described him in words as "a PM that knows his job and can push you to a beautiful limit."
The death of another film star, Stanley Okoro, who kicked the bucket on August 11 due to suspected food poisoning, before his demise posted: "If money when you get no fit solve your problem, my brother chop."
"Sunset at Noon, Tuesday 10th August 2021. Ahem, I've lost a good friend like a brother for years, a great Nollywood actor per excellence. I'm just speechless. RIP Amb. Rich Oganiru." wrote Emstarvees NG on Facebook. The deceased actor, Rich oganiru pleaded for help from his sickbed in the hospital as seen in a video.
The veteran actress, Rich Oniga, from Delta state, born in Ebutta Metta in Lagos state passed away at the age of 64 on July 30, 2021, at 10 pm after battling a heart illness. Desmond Elliot, Ejike Asiegbu, and others paid her family a condolence visit.
The funeral ceremony comes up on the 26th and 27th of August, 2021. She instructed her family members to bury her in Lagos state.
Other popular Nollywood actors and actresses that died this year are Lanre Fassai aka Sound Sultan, Abiodun Aleja, Bruno Iwuoha, Sadiq Daba, Victor Decker, Ernest Asuzu, Dan Nkoloagu, David Mela, Jim Lawson Maduke, and Folake Aremu.
